Oxford Students Seeking Therapy Dog Funds For GA Shooting Survivors
Oxford students want to share the comfort and support that they have received from therapy dogs with other shooting survivors.

Oxford High School (OHS) students Tristan Krajcarski, Sarah Gibbons, Amelia Brown, Kathryn Dupras & Sierra Musial are seeking help to raise funds for a therapy dog for Georgia Apalachee High School shooting survivors.
This International Baccalaureate (IB) project was created by seniors who are part of the last class to graduate that experienced the OHS shooting.
The students have raised $5,000 of their $8,000 goal needed to pay for and train the therapy dog. Oxford Boosters Club has generously agreed to pay for the team’s travel expenses to Georgia.

The team will travel to the Apalachee High School in February to support the students and staff, present safety measures including night locks to the district, and donate the funds to receive and train a therapy dog.
The dog will be given to a teacher as a handler but it will be a student resource and rotate to different classrooms.

The OHS creators of this project have been personally comforted and supported by the therapy dogs at OHS and want to offer the same support to other school shooting survivors:
“While we cannot prevent the tragedies that have impacted our lives and others, we can offer support. By providing a therapy dog to Apalachee High School, we hope to bring emotional security, comfort, and healing to students and teachers.”
“Supporting other survivors not only helps them find solace but also gives us closure and strengthens our drive to create meaningful change.”
