The 6-week Neighborhood Playground Program conducted by the Pontiac Youth Recreation and Enrichment Division will be held at two Pontiac schools and one of the city’s community park

“This long-awaited partnership will greatly benefit youth in the City of Pontiac,” said Pontiac youth recreation and enrichment manager Tanesha Taylor. “I truly stand by a quote from Henry Ford where he said, ‘Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is a success.’”

The programs will be available Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at:

The Pontiac Youth Recreation and Enrichment division has created a lively and energetic environment where children can continue learning throughout the summer, make memories, and build their futures through engaging and dynamic activities. Additionally, the playground programs provide summer employment as counselors through Goodwill Detroit’s “I Am Pontiac” program.

“We are excited to partner with the City of Pontiac through their Youth and Recreation program for the summer. It is important to the district that our youth are engaged in activities during the summer that support continuous learning, growth, and fun activities”, said Pontiac School District Board of Education President Dr. Anisha Hannah. “It is our hope that we are able to build onto the Youth and Recreation program and find more ways for the city and school district to collaborate. We are one city, one community!”
