Rochester Hills Has A New Young Professionals Group
Here's what the Rochester Hills Museum Young Leaders have planned for the community.
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm has announced that they've established a new young professionals group called the Rochester Hills Museum Young Leaders (RHMYL).
The mission of this new group is to engage with other young professionals in the local history of the Rochester Region and cultivate the next generation of history enthusiasts through education, events, and fundraisers, organizers said.
The inaugural group is comprised of 15 individuals aged 21-40 who are leaders in local businesses, non-profits, and in the greater community. From young professionals who have been museum members for years to individuals interested in getting involved in the Rochester Hills area, this group is excited to share in the common goal of enriching the community with history.

“We are so excited to help the Rochester Hills Museum reach out to fellow 20- & 30-somethings in our community,” said RHMYL Chair Olivia Olson. “Though this is a particularly busy time in life, it is important to occasionally step away from our responsibilities to get out and meet other people our own age — we’re hoping to provide opportunities to do so with fun events that engage with the Rochester area’s uniquely rich history.”
To kick off the fall season, the group will be hosting their first fundraiser, the Big Green Tractor Beer Fest at The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm on Saturday, Sept. 28. The craft beer festival will take place from 4-8 p.m. and will feature country music, food items for purchase, craft beer samples, tractor displays, and yard games.
