Sheriff Bouchard Busts Fake K9 Vehicle In Oakland County

A man posing as a K9 officer crossed paths with Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. Now he's in jail.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A man posing to be a K9 police unit around Oakland County met his match when he was pulled over by none other than the sheriff himself.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard had just gotten out of a meeting and was in a suit and tie driving down M-59 near Telegraph Road when he saw what looked like a police SUV, WDIV reported. But, he noticed something suspicious - the markings on the car were off. So, he pulled the man over.

“He looks at me and says, ‘Who are you?’ And I said, ‘I’m the sheriff. Who are you?'" Bouchard told WDIV.

Bouchard said there was also a fake radar mounted on the dashboard and what was supposed to look like a computer aided dispatch computer. He also found a loaded .45 glock and a large Bowie knife, the report said.

The driver is now being lodged at the Oakland County Jail and charges are pending.
