Snow Plow Driver Alerts Deputies Of Suspicious Man Looking Into Vehicles: Police

Deputies say the suspect ran off after seeing the snow plow driver, so Deputies tracked the suspect following footprints in the snow.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A 27-year-old Pontiac man is in Oakland County jail after a snow plow driver told police he was reportedly acting suspicious and peering into vehicles, according to a police report.

Oakland County Sheriff's Office Deputies received a call at 2:28 a.m on Jan. 31 from a snow plow driver in the 400 block of Carnoustie Dr. in Highland Township. The snow plow driver said while he was clearing snow, he noticed a "suspicious subject" with a backpack allegedly walking around and looking into parked vehicles, according to the police report. Deputies say the suspect was reportedly seen trying to break into a vehicle on Gleneagles Dr. However, upon seeing the snow plow driver, the suspect ran off, and the snow plow driver waited for police, according to Deputies.

Arriving Deputies noticed footprints in the snow trailing from parked car to parked car. So, Deputies set up a perimeter, and an OCSO K-9 Unit began tracking the suspect, who was eventually found hiding in a vehicle parked in a driveway at a home in the 1000 block of Highland Rd., according to the police report.
