The Vanguard Award recognizes an individual or organization for innovatively employing a communications medium in 2012.
The Diamond Award honors an individual or organization for improving conditions for women in the workplace, or portraying women p! ositively in media.

Nomination packets must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2013. Award winners will be honored during the Matrix Awards on May 16, 2013, during the chapter's 75th anniversary celebration.

The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) Detroit chapter encourages collaboration among communications professionals while promoting and developing individual career goals. Membership is open to professionals and students in all disciplines of communications. Established in 1938, the chapter covers the state of Michigan and offers informative programs on shared practices and trends in communications, as well as networking opportunities.
