The $100 million proposed project will be presented by a consultant from Plante Moran Cresa.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A presentation on a proposed $100 million civic center project at Monday's City Commission meeting.
The project was announced as a public-private partnership in April which would include a new police station, downtown park and parking deck. The park would be installed where the police station currently sits according to the Daily Tribune.
If approved, the city would pay around $58 million for the project.

“We’re at the point where we need to make a decision on whether to commit something to the project,” Mayor Jim Ellison told the Daily Tribune.
The city hired a consultant from Plante Moran Cresa to handle the project because the city does not have the staffing needed to take on all of the many elements of such a project.

The level of commitment to the proposed project from city officials isn't fully known at this time. City Commissioner Kyle DuBuc and others close to the project have stated that a final decision has yet to be made.
“We’ll look at the recommendations from the (subcommittee),” Mayor Ellison said. “We’re at a point where we’ll have to make some investment in order to progress any further and start making some design drawings.”
The presentation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the regular City Commission meeting, time for public comments will be allowed following the presentation.
