Drive for Life Invitational raises more than $250K

to benefit oncology services at Corewell Health hospitals in Royal Oak and Troy

Generous sponsors and participants in the June 17 Drive for Life Invitational at Oakland Hills Country Club raised more than $250,000 to support programs and services at the Walter & Marilyn Wolpin Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak and the Wilson Cancer Resource Center at Corewell Health Troy Hospital. The afternoon, presented by AHEAD, hosted approximately 200 golfers and guests at the prestigious Bloomfield Hills club.

In addition to golf on Oakland Hill’s world-class championship courses, guests enjoyed meals, a cocktail reception and pro shot and tips by golf pro Rick Smith.

Daniel Carey, M.D., president, Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, and Nancy Susick, RN, president, Corewell Health Troy Hospital, co-chairs for this year’s event, led a fundraising committee of hospital and community leaders including: Nayana Dekhne, M.D.,Chris Flores, Jayne Hare, Ross Hare, Denise Leighton, Pete Muscio, Ken Noonan, Bethany Parish, Richard Short, Rick Smith, Jannifer Stromberg, M.D., Mark Taylor, Steve Witkowski, and Sam Yamin.
