Royal Oak High Track Team to the Rescue!
Athletic Director Jim Cole leads athletes in attempt to release an ambulance from a muddy field.

A track meet at Royal Oak High School had some extra excitement Tuesday night. Patch reader John Davids explains:
During Tuesday’s track meet at Royal Oak High School, one of Southfield Lathrup’s female athletes required emergency medical attention.
As the ambulance pulled off the track en route to the hospital, it became stuck in the deep mud. Athletes from Royal Oak High School, organized by Athletic Director Jim Cole, came to the rescue and attempted to free the vehicle. The heroic attempts by the team were unsuccessful as the vehicle sunk deeper and deeper into the muck.

Another ambulance soon showed up and the girl was transferred to the hospital without further delay. The stuck ambulance was later extracted by a large tow truck.
