Man Crashes Into Disabled SMART Bus
A Roseville man crashed into a SMART bus late Wednesday and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A 60-year-old Roseville man is in stable condition after crashing into the back of a SMART bus on on northbound Woodward Avenue near Catalpa, Royal Oak Lt. Keith Spencer said. The bus was disabled and sitting on Woodward with its emergency flashers on when the man struck it with his Grand AM at about 10:04 p.m. Wednesday, he said.
Police arrived on the scene a few minutes later and found the man unconscious and being tended to by Good Samaritans, a news release stated. The man, whose name wasn’t released by police, was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Spencer said in the release that alcohol is suspected to have been a “contributing factor in the crash.” The incident is still under investigation, he added.
The bus was unoccupied at the time of the crash and the bus driver and passengers had already been transferred to another bus. The bus was experiencing a mechanical problem, Spencer said.
