Man Struck By Car While Walking To A Warming Shelter
The victim was struck by a car and injured as he crossed Woodward Ave. He remains in the intensive care unit at a local hospital.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A man walking to a warming shelter was struck by a car and seriously injured as he crossed Woodward Ave., according to a police report.
The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 19. Police say that a 39-year-old man from Davenport, Iowa was hit by a vehicle while crossing Woodward Ave. at Normandy Rd. The victim reportedly suffered serious injuries and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at William Beaumont Hospital. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured. The driver had reportedly not been drinking alcohol.
Police say that the initial investigation shows that the pedestrian is at fault, as accident investigators determined the man was outside of the crosswalk and walking against the light.
