Man's Van Is Stolen From His Company Parking Lot: Royal Oak Weekly Police Report

ROYAL OAK, MI — A man's 1997 Ford Econoline van was swiped from his business parking lot in the 600 block of E. Parent on Dec. 10 between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., according to a press release. Royal Oak Police are searching for the suspect.

1300 block of Edgewood Dr. 12-10-16, 5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) tampered with a window on the south side of her residence. The window was discovered open but entry was not gained.

100 block of E. Seventh St. 12-13-16, 9:00 a.m. – 3:26 p.m.: Complainant reported returning to her residence and discovering the front entry door unlocked and a front window screen removed. Complainant indicated an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole several pieces of jewelry, a computer monitor and a tablet.

600 block of E. Parent Ave. 12-10-16, 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered his for sale residence and stole numerous appliances, pieces of furniture, and some clothing.

Larceny from an Automobile

4200 block of E Fourteen Mile Rd. 12-8-16 – 12-9-16, 5:00 p.m. - 1:15 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked 1986 Mercedes and removed an unknown amount of loose change.

200 block of Devillen Ave. 12-9-16, 11:53 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole a FedEx package from his front porch.

1200 block of Diamond Court, 12-9-16 – 12-12-16, 4:40 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole several furnaces from the condominiums under construction.

215 W. Fifth (Fifth Avenue), 12-10-16, 12:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.: Complainant reported setting her Northface Coat on the back of a chair. When she returned, she discovered an unknown suspect had stolen it.

400 E. Eleven Mile Rd., (44th District Court) 12-14-16, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.: Two complainants reported placing their Apple I-Phones in the lobby locker bank and upon returning discovered and unknown suspect(s) had stolen the phones.

  • One (1) Malicious Destruction of Property & Disorderly Conduct

  • One (1) Possession of Counterfeit Currency

Now that winter is here residents and visitors are reminded of Royal Oak’s Snow Emergency Ordinance. Snow Emergency conditions are generally defined as a snowfall of four inches or more and will remain in effect until your street has been plowed. All vehicles on residential streets are to be removed or will be ticketed or towed. Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area. Once a snow emergency is called and plowing begins, it takes approximately 24-36 hours to plow all city streets, depending on how much snow has fallen.
