A Dearborn man of Muslim faith is suing Little Caesars for $100 million after he says he was served and then accidentally ate pepperoni made with pork, a food prohibited by Islamic law. Mohamad Bazzi twice ordered halal pizza from a Schaefer Road Little Caesars in Dearborn. The boxes were labeled "halal," but the pies inside were topped with regular pepperoni.

Dogs On Restaurant Patios OK Under Michigan Bill, Maybe

Companion dogs would be free to accompany their owners to outdoor restaurant patios — or not — under a bill approved by the Michigan Senate Wednesday on a 32-6 vote. The same bill would give local jurisdictions the right to keep dogs on a tighter leash. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Margaret O’Brien, a Kalamazoo Republican, failed to gain steam in three previous attempts. But now that it has passed the Senate, she’s hopeful it will become law.

Chris Cornell’s Detroit Death Suite Macabre Mecca For Fans

Now hear this: The hotel room where Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell hung himself is closed until further notice. MGM Grand Detroit said it has been flooded with calls to book Room 1136 from fans of the musician known for his soaring, powerful voice. Cornell killed himself May 17 after Soundgarden played a sold-out show at Fox Theatre, according to a medical examiner’s report. Cornell’s bodyguard found him on the bathroom floor in his hotel suite.

Ford's Garage Plans Late June Opening In Dearborn

Ford’s Garage, a burger and craft beer restaurant, is planning a late June opening in Dearborn. Located at 21367 Michigan Avenue just west of Southfield Road, the car-themed eatery has begun hiring staff to fill all positions, according to its website. It will be the chain’s first Michigan location. Ford’s Garage has four locations in Florida and, according to Yelp reviewers, the restaurant rates highly. Ryan V. of Traverse City gave the Cape Coral location five out of five stars.

Accident Leaves 3 Critical

A 10-car accident in northern Macomb County sent three people to local hospitals with critical injuries on the morning of May 25. A preliminary Macomb County Sheriff's Office investigation showed that a 54-year-old Detroit was driving a commercial tractor-trailer when it collided into vehicles that were stopped or preparing to stop for a red light on northbound M-53. The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. just south of 32 Mile Road in Washington Township.
