-The task force voted to recommend the city take steps to move forward on a design for the park project on its own after learning the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission is only able to offer assistance in seeking grants, gifts and public-private partnerships for the project. The county does not intend to participate financially in the development of the park at this time.

-The group also recommended a request for qualifications (RFQ) be issued to hunt for qualified professionals to determine the future design of Normandy Oaks and, in addition, the design of a downtown park. The hope is that having the opportunity to design two parks will be a greater attraction to potential architects/landscape architects.
