A popular sandwich shop along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak recently closed down after just one year.
ROYAL OAK, MI — A popular sandwich shop along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak recently closed down after just one year.
Pop's Hani, best-known for their Detroit-style pitas, shut its building's doors after a dispute with its landlord.
"We were unable to come to an agreement with the current building owner, and it required us to close this location," the business said in a closure announcement.

The sandwich shop was created under the National Coney Island, which is a metro Detroit chain that invented the Hani sandwich. Officials encouraged guests to visit a National Coney Island to grab a Hani sandwich.
There are multiple National Coney Island locations in the Detroit area, including one in Royal Oak, located at 1812 North Main Street.
