OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Oakland County U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens got a big endorsement Thursday in her 2026 bid for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Stevens a "proven fighter," while endorsing the four-term Democrat for the open Senate seat.
"From her time as chief of staff on the auto rescue task force to her work strengthening Michigan’s manufacturing industry in Congress, it’s clear Haley is well-equipped to stand up to Donald Trump’s chaos, lower costs for our families and ensure every Michigander can thrive," Pelosi said in a statement. "Haley has delivered results for the American people as a member of the House Democrats ― and I know she will accomplish a great deal as the next senator from the great state of Michigan."

Before Congress, Stevens served on the U.S. Treasury's auto task force following the 2008 financial crisis as President Barack Obama's administration bailed out General Motors and Chrysler.
