New Luxury Apartments Break Ground In Downtown Royal Oak
Here's a look at what's in store for the amenity-rich downtown apartments opening in the fall of 2020.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak is moving forward with new luxury apartments being built downtown.
The Billings Place broke ground Wednesday, celebrating the next phase of constructing the 65-unit, five-story apartment building that will be developed on Main Street north of 11 Mile Road.
The finished product will offer one, two and three bedrooms. A penthouse area with a roof garden is planned for the top floor featuring tables and deep-seating areas, large screen TV’s, a pool table, meeting room, fireplaces and a kitchen space.

The apartments should be open to residents by the fall of 2020.
The developers have focused on making the downtown property amenity rich with a heated parking garage, fitness center with yoga studio, media/theatre room, outdoor sky terrace with fire pits and grills, lounge recreation room, secure bike storage with repair station, ev chargers and an on-site concierge to assist residents.

With the new Royal Oak City Center underway, it will place residents steps from venues for music, art shows and farmers markets.
“It features everything a resident could want from a community,” developers said in an announcement.
Among the developers of the property are Len Nadolski and Larry Burr of Matthews-Hargraves Chevrolet in Royal Oak. They are partners in LL Real Estate and have developed other residential properties in Michigan, Ohio and Florida, the Oakland Press reported.
“We intend to hold and keep this property,” Nadolski told the Oakland Press earlier this year, adding that two other development proposals for the Billings site have failed in recent years.
The apartments are designed as condominiums and the developers say they will rent them for several years before selling them as condos, depending on market demand, the report noted.
