ROYAL OAK, MI — A 41-year-old Royal Oak man was arrested Monday after police say he pointed a gun at another driver during a road rage incident.

Michigan State Police said that the man, who is facing charges and who has not yet been identified publicly by police, pointed the gun at another driver following an altercation just before 7:30 p.m. on I-75 near Fort Street.

Police officers met a person at a local gas station where they were told that someone had waved a gun at them. The person gave police a description of the vehicle and Michigan State Police troopers later located the vehicle on I-75 and pulled the vehicle over.

Police found a 9mm handgun in the car and troopers said he was in the process of obtaining a concealed pistol license.

“During a simple driving altercation, he pulled out his pistol and pointed it at the victim,” Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said in released statement. “Another bad decision with a gun, which could have ended a lot worse.”
