Royal Oak Passes 3 Pot Dispensary Permits, Residents Concerned: Report

Residents were mostly concerned with the proposed pot locations at Harrison Street and one near a vocational school, the report said.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Despite pushback from residents, Royal Oak city officials approved licenses for three marijuana businesses during a Monday night City Commission meeting, paving the way for the dispensaries to be built, according to a report by WDIV.

Residents mainly voiced opposition to the proposed pot locations on Harrison Street and one proposed for an industrial area, which would sit 88 feet away from a vocational high school, according to the report.

"The dispensary is not a good fit for a residential area," one woman said during the meeting, the report said.
