Drunken Man Slams into Trees, Thieves Target Cars and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:
Drunken man slams into trees
400 block of Poplar, April 19: A woman reported a vehicle struck a tree on her front lawn then backed up and ran into another tree on the block. Officers responded and discovered the subject was intoxicated and was upset over a break up with girlfriend. He had left some items on her porch and then ran his vehicle into the tree. He was advised on trespassing in the past. The subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, trespassing and malicious destruction of property.
Breaking and entering
30901 Woodward (Firestone), April 19: Staff reported someone broke out the glass door of the business. Nothing was taken from the business.

Laptop, wallet and more taken from vehicles
2000 block of Torquay, April 21: A man reported someone stole his catalytic converter from his vehicle.
1300 block of Mohawk, April 23: A man reported someone stole his laptop computer from his vehicle.

25352 Woodward (LA Fitness), April 24: A man reported someone broke out the driver side window of his vehicle and stole a backpack and wallet. The suspect is a man driving a white older model GMC minivan with tinted windows.
3601 W. 13 Mile (William Beaumont Hospital), April 24: A man reported someone stole his handicap placard from his vehicle.
Man tampers with parked cars
4949 Coolidge, April 18: Officers responded to a man in the parking lot attempting to open doors on parked vehicles. The man did not enter any cars and drove away in his own vehicle. Officers located and stopped the vehicle the man was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.
