Royal Oak Veterans Memorial Moving, Input Requested

The memorial will be moved due to recently approved plans and the city is asking for public input on the new location.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The City of Royal Oak is asking the public's input as plans to move the Veterans Memorial are made. It will have to be moved about 40 feet, the city said.

The move comes as part of the city's downtown park plan.

"Commissioners have asked landscape architects to work closely with veterans groups to ensure the new location is a place that is reflective and honors those heroes whose names are etched forever in our hearts," the release says.
