Royal Oak's Barton Park Is Getting A Makeover

ROYAL OAK, MI — Barton Park is getting a makeover, according to an announcement on the City of Royal Oak's official Facebook page.

So, what's on the makeover agenda? For starters, there's going to be a new park shelter/gazebo, so you can enjoy a picnic meal with friends and the fam. Also, good news for chess and checkers lovers. The park will also be home to new outdoor chess/checker tables and chairs. The project is being paid for with federal funds from Royal Oak's Community Development Block Grant.

Barton Park will be closed during construction, which is slated to start the last week of November and wrap up in February 2017.
