Festival Supporters Whet Appetites With Celtic Feast
The menu for a special party at Mac's included Irish stew, Scottish fish cakes and shots of Scotch malt whisky.
What better way to whet an appetite for the Saline Celtic Festival than a feast featuring Irish stew, Scottish fish cakes with drunken lobster, and shots of Scotch whisky.
More than 60 people kicked off Saline’s festival weekend at in Saline Thursday night. The Celtic Festival is held at Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Tickets for the dinner cost $50 and some of the proceeds were donated to the .

The menu also included salad, oysters, smoked salmon and pastries. For dessert, Mac’s served up Nova Scotia gingerbread topped with homemade whiskey ice cream.
Laurie Dawson, who serve's on the festival commitee, said the dinner was a great way to get people fired up for the weekend.

“It’s a great crowd. A lot of people turned out to help support the Celtic Festival and I hope its indicative of the kind of crowds we’ll see this weekend,” she said.
Dawson said organizers and volunteers are excited about the annual event.
“We think it’s going to be a great weekend. We’ve got new events, with the 5K run, Celtic Survivor. I think people are excited because we’re getting off to a fresh start.”
