State Champ Ford Wins Juniors Nationals Diving Title

2011 Saline High School graduate Taylor Ford won her division at Junior Nationals in the diving competition. She was the MHSAA Division 1 state champ in diving last year.

Saline’s Got Talent!

The Saline Community Fair starts Aug. 30. What was once an opening night fixture at the Saline Community Fair has moved to Friday, Sept. 2, and is now called Saline's Got Talent. The revived talent show also features two new corporate sponsors and a cash prize of $100 for the winner.

"Saline is full of talent," expressed Fred Schaible, spokesman for the Saline Community Fair. "The old talent show being held earlier in the week made if difficult for some to participate and we feel by moving the day and increasing the prize we can get a lot more people to participate."

W4 Country and Key Bank are the sponsors for this event and Bubba from W4 will be on hand to emcee the event. Those interested need to pre-register by completing the register form found online at www.salinefair.org. All entries must be received by Friday, August 26 in order to participate.

Saline Artist Portrays Local Scenery

Saline resident and artist Yoshiko Mishina is selling several of her paintings on her page at Fine Art America. Several paintings feature Saline locations, such as Weller’s and the Saline River.

Downtown Diner open

on the efforts to open Downtown Diner in time for Saline Summerfest. Well, they made it and were open Saturday. The Downtown Diner is located at 131 E. Michigan Ave. For more information, call 734-316-2343
