Run Michigan has the results from the Saline Summerfest 5K event. Nicholas George, 23, of Saline, finished first overall in 17:51.8. Elianna Shwayder, 14, of Saline, was the first to cross the line in the women’s race, finishing in 19:05.6.

Friday's Golf Outing Benefits Program for Disabled Adults

The Third Annual Saline Young Adult Golf Outing takes place Friday at , 6451 Saline Ann Arbor Rd. Registration and Check-in is at noon and the event begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Golfers will return for dinner and prizes at 5:30 p.m. The entry fee is $60 per person. Funds raised will be used to offset the cost of transportation, equipment and supplies for the Saline Young Adult Program, which gives disabled adults job and life skills. You can download a registration form at the Saline Area Schools website.

Gas Prices Still High

So gas prices have retreated from the $4-a-gallon level. But not much. Even though oil is down to $85-a-barrell. Prices ranged form $3.69 (at Sunoco, Speedway, and the east side BP) to $3.75 (at the west side BP) on Sunday.
