The Saline Hornets water polo team finished its summer schedule with a 12-3 loss to host Ann Arbor Pioneer Monday. Matt Lund scored twice for Saline. Michael Bundas scored the other goal and added four steals. James Fisher also had four steals. Lucas Allen had three steals. Tom Walls, Louis Remenapp and Ben Pummell each had two steals. Goalie Jacob Aulisa made six stops. Pioneer jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and led 6-0 at half. The Saline varsity team is in action against Sept. 9-10 when they host the Hornet invite. The junior varsity Hornets pounded Pioneer, 15-6. Ethan Johnson and Beck Adams each scored three times. Jacob Aulisa, Cameron Tubbs, and Isaak Hatopp each scored twice. Ryan Glatz, Kevin Fisher and Steven Rudnik also scored for the Honrets. Hatopp added two assists. Nathan Barrett had three steals. Aulisa and Rudnik split time in goal, each making seven saves. The junior varsity Hornets are in action again Sept. 9-10 at the Ann Arbor Huron Invitational.
