Kindergarten Registration in Saline Thursday

The Saline Area Schools district is hosting a kindergarten registration event from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday in the cafeteria at .

Students may be registered in the traditional half-day kindergarten, the early school program, and the extended day option. Registration is open for children who will be five years old on or before Dec. 11.

To register a child for kindergarten, a parent must bring proof of residency, an original birth certificate, immunization records and a copy of the child’s last health appraisal.

According to a press release from the school district, kindergarten registration is an important event for families, students and the district. The district uses kindergarten registration enrollment as a key source of information used to decisions about staffing, programs and other budget allocations. Registering a child for kindergarten also allows a school to provide parents with information, schedules, events and other information for the remainder of the current school year and summer.

Registration packets can be picked up at either registration event. The packets are also available online at the school’s website.

All students who register for kindergarten will receive a free drawstring backpack as a "welcome gift" from the school district.
