Mike Foster, Mayor of Brecon, Passes Away

Citizens of Saline's Sister City, Brecon, Wales, were saddened and shocked to learn Mayor Mike Foster had passed away.

Brecon Town Clerk Gail Rofe said Foster died suddenly at his home on July 25.

The online version of the Brecon & Radnor Express reported that fellow town councillors spoke of their shock and sadness at the news of Foster's death.

Foster was born in Birmingham, England, on Jan. 10, 1949. His claim to fame, according to his biography on Brecon's website, is that he devised a way to cover a railway carriage with vinyl instead of paint. He and his wife, Olwyn, moved to Brecon more than 20 years ago. They leave behind three children.
