Milan Big Reds Swim into State Finals
Tyler Fisher was first in the 100-meter butterfly event in Friday's preliminaries.
Several Big Reds are moving on to Saturday’s MHSAA Division 3 state finals meet after preliminaries Friday at Holland Aquatics.
Milan’s best finish came from Tyler Fisher, who won the 100-meter butterfly event in 52.30. Fisher also took fifth in the 200-meter individual medley, completing the event in 2:01.07.
Dylan Shearer finished second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 59.84. Tyler Digesare placed third in the 100-meter backstroke, completing the race in 54.05.

Dylan Miller was 10th in the 100-meter freestyle, finishing in 49.35.
Milan’s 200-meter individual medley team of Digesare, Shearer, Fisher and Mark McCrae was third in 1:37.58. The four seniors set a school record in the event.

The 400-meter relay team of Miller, Fisher, Digesare and Shearer placed fourth in 3:18.79.
The event continues at noon Saturday.
