Motorists: Watch Out For Cyclists Saturday
The Tour of Washtenaw loops around dirt and paved roads in Saline and Southwest Washtenaw County.
With hundreds of cyclists peddling in and around Saline Saturday, driving around town may be trick.
The Tour of Washtenaw, sponsored by the City of Saline, the Saline Downtown Merchants Association, BeSaline.com, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Flatout Bread, the Ann Arbor Visitor's Bureau and NuStep inc., takes place between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with related activities starting at 10:30 a.m. and going until 6 p.m.
The races start at Liberty School, veer west on Pleasant Lake and eventually loop south and back to Saline on Ann Arbor Street, where they finish at Henry Street.

South Ann Arbor Street will be closed from Michigan Avenue to Willis Road from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The south entrance of Crestwood Circle will be closed and the north entrance of Crestwood Circle will be manned be a police officer that will assist residents coming and going.
Traffic will intermittently be stopped On Michigan Avenue in Bridgewater Township between 11:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. as the cyclists cross Michigan Avenue. The cyclists will be coming from the north down McCullum Road. They'll turn east at Michigan Avenue for a short sprint before veering southeast on to Arkona Road. Officers from the Washtenaw County Sherriff’s Department will be on sight to direct eastbound and westbound traffic.

Municipal Parking Lot #4, behind Benny's and Brecon Grille will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., too. The parking lot will be the site of a Bike Expo and Kids Bike Rodeo.
