Ouimet Hosts Forum on Property Tax Appeals
Tuesday's forum is at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District building.

Residents who want to learn more about property tax assessment appeals are invited to attend a town hall meeting from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District building.
The town hall meeting is sponsored by State Rep. Mark Ouimet, R-Scio Twp. Also appearing is State Rep. Tom McMillin, R-Rochester Hills. McMillin, named “Taxpayer Hero of the Year” by the Michigan Taxpayers Alliance in 2010, has provided similar property tax appeal workshops in his own district.
"Taxes can be incredibly complicated to figure out, and as one of the legislature's only CPAs, I want to make sure that families in our community have a firm understanding of their property tax rights," said McMillin. "The public is welcome to attend to gather information on how to appeal their property tax assessments."
