• Saline Craft Show Opens Youth Applications (thesuntimesnews.com) — Youth artists in grades 6–12 can now apply to join the nationally ranked Saline Spring Craft Show, with fees waived and all sales proceeds going directly to the students. Applications are open through Jan. 16 for the March 7, 2026 show, giving local teens a chance to learn real-world selling, pricing, and presentation skills right here in Saline.
   

• Ann Arbor basketball highlights: First loss could be ‘blessing in disguise' (mlive.com) — Saline girls basketball dropped an early-season game to South Lyon East after falling behind 25-11 in the first quarter, despite a strong all-around night from standout guard Halle Powell. Coach Leigh Ann Roehm sees the loss as a learning moment as the Hornets, now 1-1, prepare to bounce back against Ann Arbor Skyline, while other nearby teams like Ypsilanti and Whitmore Lake also impressed.
   

• Frank Arthur Halberstadt (wlen.com) — Saline residents are mourning the passing of 64-year-old Frank Arthur Halberstadt, a longtime long-haul truck driver who died at home on December 9. Family and friends can pay their respects Monday, December 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Purse Funeral Home in Adrian before cremation takes place.
