Police Report: Cyclist Escapes Collision with Car with Minor Injury

Cyclist Collided with Car Turning off Michigan Avenue
An 18-year old Saline Township man suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle Sunday.
At about 10:40 a.m., the man was riding his bike westbound on the south sidewalk along Michigan Avenue, according to a police report. While the cyclist was crossing Monroe Street with the walk signal, an eastbound car turned off Michigan Avenue onto Monroe Street, and the cyclist struck the driver’s side of the vehicle and landed on the hood of the vehicle, the report said.
According to the report, the cyclist told the driver of the vehicle that he was not hurt, and she left the scene. Huron Valley Ambulance arrived on the scene and treated the man for a cut on his elbow, the report said. The man’s bike was inoperable after the crash.

Bikes Reported Stolen from 200 Block of Clark Street
Two bikes were stolen in the Clark Street area last week. On Saturday, a bike was taken from the 200 block of Clark Street. The red Schwinn bike decorated in flames was left on the porch about 1 p.m. and was gone by 8 p.m., according to a police report.
On July 27, a bike was stolen from the side of a duplex, also on the 200 block of Clark Street.

Man Reports Uninvited Guests
A man on the 300 block of North Ann Arbor Street has been advised by police to change his locks after having uninvited guests at his home on two occasions. He told police that while on the second floor of his home at 11:30 p.m. July 24, he heard unknown subjects on the first floor of his home. He told police he did not investigate the noise and that nothing was missing and did not call police after that incident. According tot he report, at about 11 p.m. July 28, heard noises coming from his kitchen. He told police that this time he went downstairs and yelled at the intruders to leave, according to a police report. He told police the subjects fled and that he saw three white males in their early 20s enter a silver, four-door Saturn parked on Russell Street. The car headed north on Ann Arbor Street, according to the report.
