Rentschler Farm Museum Hosts Vintage Truck and Tractor Show Saturday.

A 1939 Saline fire engine will be the featured vehicle at the Saline Area Historical Society vintage truck and tractor show at the Rentschler Farm Museum Saturday.

The Saline Area Historical Society hosts a vintage truck and tractor show at the Rentschler Farm Museum in Saline on Saturday, August 20. Saline’s 1939 Fire Engine will be the featured vehicle at the show. Members of the Southeast Michigan Historical Truck Society and the John Deere Tri-County Two Cylinder Club of Michigan will also display their trucks and tractors.

Dean Greb, president of the Historical Society, says that about 30 trucks and tractors will be exhibited.

The Fire Engine is part of the permanent display at the Michigan Firehouse Museum in Ypsilanti  is on loan to the Saline Area Historical Society sponsors for the event. The Firehouse Museum is also giving fireman’s hats to the first 50 children who attend.

In addition to the trucks and tractors there will be plenty of farm animals to see, a farm garden, and wagon rides. Everyone is invited to bring their family picnic lunch to enjoy under the shade of the old apple tree or at the picnic tables available on the farm. Ice cream and water will be available at the Saline Lions Club Wagon. The farm house will be open for tours and the gift shop will also be open.

Bring your National Park Service Passport to be stamped. The Rentschler Farm Museum is a designated site for the MotorCities National Heritage Area Passport Stamp.

The show will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The Rentschler Farm Museum is located at 1265 E. Michigan Ave. on the U.S. 12 Heritage Trail. Admission is a $1 donation for adults and children are admitted free.
