Saline High School Bands Receive Top Marks

The MSBOA District Festival was held at Saline Middle School March 10-11.

Nearly 500 instrumental musicians from participated in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra District 12 Festival held at, March 10-11. The musicians were divided into four concert bands and three orchestras. Each orchestra or band performed a concert program for three adjudicators on the auditorium stage and then moved to another room to perform a sight reading piece for a fourth adjudicator. The sight reading evaluation involves students working together as a team to learn and perform two pieces that they have never seen before.

All seven Saline High School bands and orchestras performed extremely well and were awarded first division/superior ratings from every adjudicator," said Saline High School Director of Bands Nate Lampman.

The first division/superior rating is the highest rating awarded at M.S.B.O.A. festivals.
