Subject of Pittsfield Police Search May Be Victim of Homicide
Pittsfield Police are searching for 45-year-old Dawn Marie Fital, who was last seen Monday.
Pittsfield Police are searching for woman they believe may be the victim of homicide, according to a press release issued by the township’s department of public safety Wednesday evening.
Dawn Marie Fital, 45, of Pittsfield Township, has been missing since Monday.
Police spent Wednesday gathering evidence from the 5800 block of Plum Hollow Drive in the Arbor Knoll apartment complex. Police believe the case may be a homicide investigation based on information gathered at the apartment and based on information gathered by law enforcement officials in Indiana. Police are tracking down numerous leads.

Tuesday night, the Merrillville Police Department, Indiana, contacted Pittsfield Police and requested a check on the welfare of a 45-year-old woman.
The 55-year-old male resident of the apartment told Pittsfield Police she had been missing since Monday.

Merrillville Police have taken a man, believed to be Fital’s boyfiend, into custody. The Pittsfield Township press release stated the man in custody, a 44-year-old Pittsfield Township resident, is believed to be responsible for Fital’s disappearance.
Pittsfield Police are investigating the case with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Anyone with information relative to the Fital’s disappearance is asked to call the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety at 734-822-4911.
Friends of Fital, an avid billiards player, have created a Facebook page to aid the effort to find her.
