Community Corner

ViewFinder: Downtown Saline@Night

Each week, ViewFinder focuses on an aspect of the community.

I've been working in the community news business in southeast Michigan since 1999. The entire time, I've lived in Ann Arbor. I had spent the last five years working in Blissfield, and on many occasions, my work took me to Adrian, Tecumseh, Onsted or Clinton, so I grew very familiar with U.S. 12, which is one of the most fascinating roads in Michigan.

I was, and still am, amazed by the beauty of the four corners in downtown Saline. The lights in the trees really bring out the beauty of the brick work, architecture and of the sidewalks. Nowhere is that more true than it is on the southeast corner, known as Murphy's Crossing. Here's a series of pictures taken at the four corners in January.
