White Leads Saline Past Monroe
The Saline Hornets varsity golf team improved to 5-0 in the SEC with Wednesday's victory over Monroe.

Saline improved to 5-0 in SEC Conference play Wednesday when it defeated Monroe 167-186 in varsity golf action on the front nine at Sandy Creek Golf Course.
Emily White led the Hornets with a one-over-par 37, Karla Gross carded a 40, Rachel Hysong shot a 44 and Heather Vogt come in at 46.

White’s round began with birdies on the first two holes. Her good day could have been great, but she finished with three bogeys including a three-putt on the last hole.
“She was solid tee-to-green,” said coach Betsy French.

The coach was also encouraged by Hysong’s score in the four slot and by Louisa Antonelli’s 44 in the junior varsity game. Antonelli’s performance helped Saline defeat Monroe 231-267. Caitlin Swiney shot a 59, Jenni Kohler scored at 60 and Victoria Loader came in at 68.
The junior varsity team is 4-0.
