9/11 Veterans Fundraiser, Kid's Day, Art Fair and More This Week in Shelby Township and Utica
The Shelby Township Board of Trustees will meet, family events and the 30th annual Shelby Township Art Fair are among the events planned this week.

Here are some events to plan for this week in Shelby Township and Utica:
- The Shelby Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building. Among the items to be considered include a request for a tree removal permit for property on the south side of 25 Mile, east of Van Dyke; hiring of personnel in parks, recreation and maintenance and the building departments and the township 2014-2019 capital improvement plan.
- Eric Greitens, a former Navy SEAL who is nowΒ an author and founder of The Mission Continues, Β a non-profit organization that helps post-9/11 veterans transition from the military to leadership positions in their community, will hold a fundraiser Wednesday at theΒ Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. Β
- Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department will hold a kid's day at Riverbends Park at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The movie "Hotel Transylvania" will be shown at dusk.
- Stony Creek Metropark will host an outdoor movie Friday night at dusk at Eastwood beach.Β Β A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors or $5 daily.Β
- The 30th Shelby Township Art Fair returns to the municipal grounds in Saturday and Sunday. The Art Fair willΒ feature more than 80 artists, music, Detroit Institute of Arts workshop and more.
