More than 100 Michigan residents were killed by domestic violence in 2022. Domestic violence crimes account for almost 40 percent of police calls. One in three women and one in four men have been physically abused by an intimate partner: exposing millions of children to domestic violence with trauma.
The Butterfly Collective was founded by a group of women who are survivors or have been impacted by domestic violence. No other organization in Michigan provides this type of support.
