Local Pharmacy to Accept Unwanted Medications

Compounding Solutions Pharmacy is one of 11 local pharmacy which have partnered with the Macomb County Health Department to accept unwanted medications.
The pharmacy, at 8170 23 Mile Road, will accept expired and unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications. The pills will be disposed of in an "environmentally safe and responsible disposal."  
According to a release from Macomb County, cleaning out unwanted pills from medicine cabinets reduces the chance of accidental poisonings, overdoses, misuse and abuse.
The pharmacy will not accept controlled substances such as narcotic painkillers, Morphine, Ritalin, and Tylenol III with codeine.
