STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — Northbound Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) between 18 Mile Road to Michigan 59 (Hall Road) is closing down Friday for bridge deck demolition of the Clinton River Road bridge, according to road officials.
The road is expected to reopen by 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, according to road officials.
Traffic on northbound Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) will be detoured to westbound 18 Mile Road to northbound Mound Road, then eastbound Dorby Drive/Michigan 59 (Hall Road) to northbound Michigan 53, according to road officials.

Southbound Michigan 53 (Van Dyke Freeway) will remain closed and detoured from Michigan 59 (Hall Road) to 18 Mile Road until late-June, according to road officials.
Clinton River Road between 19 Mile Road and Schoenherr Road closed Tuesday, and is expected to stay closed for roughly three months, according to road officials.
