Share Photos From Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Thursday, April 25 marks the 20th anniversary of national Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Did you take your child to work? Share your photo on Patch!

Moms and dads in Shelby Township and Utica, did you bring your son or daughter to work today to show your children what you do for a living?

April 25 marks the 20th anniversary of national Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day, and Patch asks you to share photos and experiences you had today with your children.

The annual event was first created for girls in 1993 by the Ms. Foundation For Women. The initial purpose of the day was to help increase self-esteem in young girls while exposing them to future career options. A decade later, boys started joining their parents at work on this day.

According to the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation, the purpose of the day is to empower children to plan for the future and to help them understand the value of a good education.
