Pat Carlotto sues South Haven, claims discrimination (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — A longtime South Haven police sergeant has filed a federal civil rights and employment discrimination lawsuit against the City of South Haven after repeatedly serving as interim chief but not being chosen for the permanent role. He alleges retaliation tied to his role as a witness in an earlier case and is seeking back pay, damages, and appointment as police chief or similar reinstatement.
   

• Jazz Festival creator receives proclamation from South Haven (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — South Haven’s mayor has formally honored Larry Brown, founder of the South Haven Jazz Festival, with a city proclamation recognizing his years of volunteer leadership. Brown, who is stepping back from organizing the event after eight years, credited city staff and Foundry Hall for the festival’s success and said the popular Dyckman Park tradition is expected to continue under new leadership.
