2 Metro Detroit Beaches Closed Due To High Bacteria Levels

Two beaches in the metro Detroit area are closed due to high bacteria levels heading into Fourth of July weekend, according to officials.​

METRO DETROIT — Two beaches in the metro Detroit area are closed due to high bacteria levels heading into Fourth of July weekend, according to officials.

St. Clair Shores Memorial Park Beach and Stanley Beach in White Lake Township are both unsafe bacteria levels from an unknown source, according to officials.

Both beaches are expected to remain closed through the Fourth of July weekend.

The other Michigan beaches are under contamination advisories after heavy rainfall over the weekend. Those two beaches are:

  • St. Mary's River - Sugar Island Township Park
  • Saginaw Bay-Lake Huron - Singing Bridge Beach

Both of those beaches are expected to remain closed at least through Monday.
