Why are you seeking elective office?
The City of St Clair Shores needs someone with a clear vision, fresh ideas and the energy to get things done.I have done a great job over the years of updating city services, striving for a vibrant business community, repairing aging infrastructure ,keeping the safety of the residents of SCS first thru continued support of Police and Fire Dept, Protecting Senior Services and continued advancements and protection of Lake St Clair. Keeping SCS fiscally strong is my number one priority. We must continue to separate storm and sewers and replacing our lead lines. .I am re-running for my position because I am a voice of the residents and business community. I want to keep St Clair Shores on a path of positive growth as we are experiencing currently , especially thru great Parks n Recreation events. I have the experience and history of doing everything I have mentioned .Being a council person gives me the vote to continue along this path
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Changing Times . I will always continue to listen to the residents, business community, my colleagues and administration in order to make the best decisions
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have the past history of of being a tireless Community Advocate, Volunteer and Organizer. I have brought the Community Music On the Lake , Tree Lightings, Halloween in the Park, Nautical Coast Clean-Ups Parades and Festivals and More . This has given me the opportunity to meet many residents & business owners that are resources I draw on to generate new ideas . As a salesperson for St Clair Shores Sentinel, I am constantly on the streets of SCS ,listening to residents and business owners, getting many ideas and visions .No other candidate is in touch, as I am ,with the everyday happenings in SCS.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
The City Officials performed great and responded thru finding a source too get the residents vaccinated thru a series of Walgreen opportunities, led by a local businessman ..Going to Zoom Council and Committee Meetings meetings quickly was a effective response
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
Listening to the Residents of SCS ,responding to their problems and trying to find a solution is what I think matters most to people. Residents want to know they are heard.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have won the Optimist Club of St Clair Shores and Macomb County Volunteer of the Year Awards . This means that you are willing to help out people and the community . I have in the past created a St Clair Shores Realtor Open House , Past Business Ordinance Amendments to Allow Business Friendly A-Frame Signs and Grand Opening Signage ,On Premise Liquor License changes, Industrial Development Applications, A moratorium on Masonry Walls between Businesses and Residential District, bidding out service contracts , and fighting blight . Most recently I started a Volunteer Snow Brigade for Senior Citizens and the Disabled in SCS. Past City Councilman for Beatification, Dog Park, Historical Committees . Currently Represent Senior Advisory Committee , Waterfront Environmental Committee , SCS Memorial Day Parade and Cool City Committee .Former Mayor Pro Tem
The best advice ever shared with me was:
You can accomplish almost anything, as long as your willing to give others the credit.
