Deputies Searching For Assault Suspect
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating the recent assault of a 36-year-old Mt. Clemens woman in her home.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI β The Macomb County Sheriffβs Office is investigating the recent assault of a 36-year-old Mt. Clemens woman in her home. Deputies Monday released a sketch of the suspect in the April 21 incident. The woman was hit twice in the head with a handgun and later transported to St. Johnβs Hospital for treatment.
In what sheriffβs deputies are classifying as a home invasion and assault, the woman was at home in the 500 block of Clinton River Drive at about 8:40 a.m. when a man kicked in the front door. Reports said the woman had returned home from dropping her children off at school. Her husband left minutes before the break-in.
The woman was upstairs when she heard the noise. She confronted the suspect near the homeβs stairway. The suspect hit her at least twice in the head with the weapon, deputyβs reports said.

The blows left her unconscious. When she awoke she noticed that her telephone had been smashed. The woman then drove herself to her parentβs home in Eastpointe and was then transported to St. Johnβs Hospital β Detroit for treatment.
The woman described the suspect as a black male, 20-30 years old, approximately 5-feet 10-inches in height and having a medium build. She described his clothing as a black Carhartt style coat and black work boots.

Sheriffβs deputies were called to her Mt. Clemens home by her father. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
