Detroit Police Officer Involved In Warren Car Crash: Police
A Detroit Police officer was involved in a Monday morning car crash on southbound Groesbeck Highway just north of Interstate 696 in Warren.
WARREN, MI — A Detroit Police officer was involved in a Monday morning car crash on southbound Groesbeck Highway just north of Interstate 696 in Warren, Police said.
There were four minor injuries reported in the crash, Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said. Traffic was limited heading south on Groesbeck near the freeway, as there were multiple emergency and fire crews on the scene of the crash.
Police were taking prisoners from the Macomb County Jail to Detroit when their cruiser collided with a Buick SUV on the highway, WWJ News reported.

"The police car from Detroit, the air bags are out, front end has extensive damage," WWJ News reported. "And it looks like the back of the Buick has a lot of damage."
Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
