Green Fair, 80s Movie in the Park and Book Sale Among Events Planned This Week in St. Clair Shores

Here are some items to add to your calendar this week:

  • Didn't get your fill of classic cars on Woodward this weekend?Β The weekly Cruisin at the Bruce will beΒ held from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday and gives car enthusiasts a chance to show off their rides at the waterfront VFW post.
  • St. Clair Shores City Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Items to be considered include awarding bids for items the fire department and the golf course is considering to purchase, and a request to sell a vacant parcel on Talbot.
  • The Friends of the St. Clair Shores Public Library will hold a bargain book sale at the St. Clair Shores Public LibraryΒ from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.Β Β Saturday. It will be heldΒ outdoors near the main entrance ofΒ the library. The Friends sale, weather-permitting,Β will be concurrent with the Historical Society of St. Clair Shores white elephant/trunk sale in the library parking lot and grounds of the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum.Β 
  • The annual Green Fair in the ParkΒ will be held from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. SaturdayΒ at Veterans' Memorial Park. This year, the Green Fair will feature a wide array of green businesses, non-profit organizations and food trucks as well.
  • The St. Clair Shores Youth Council has partnered with the members of Cool City Committee to present anΒ evening with concessions, an 80's costume contest, a dance competition, along with a showing of "The Breakfast Club" at Veterans Memorial Park.Β Admission is free, and there will be special prizes for the winners of the contests. Β Doors open atΒ 7 p.m. Saturday, and the movie begins at dusk.
