Kilpatrick Relative Arrested for Reportedly Driving Stolen Vehicle

Daniel Ferguson, whose cousin is married to Kwame Kilpatrick's sister, faces additional charges in St. Clair Shores for allegedly driving a stolen truck, according to a report by WDIV-TV.

Ferguson was originally arrested in July by police after he was reportedly found sleeping in the driver's seat of his truck at a green light at Harper and 11 Mile, according to the news report.

He was charged with operating while impaired, possession of marijuana, fingerprint refusal and refusal of a preliminary breath test. He was released on a $1,000 personal bond and returned to court Tuesday. His court date was rescheduled until Sept. 24, and Judge Joseph Oster ordered him to comply to his alcohol testing schedule. 

According to the story, police investigated a vehicle Ferguson drove to the July court date with Illinois license plates. Investigators determined the truck was stolen out of Mississippi. He was arrested and charged Wednesday on a charge of receiving and concealing, and receiving and concealing stolen property, a motor vehicle. He is being held in the Macomb County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Ferguson will return to court Aug. 27.
